REACH SA and Via Red Carpet are non-profit organizations that aim to make an impact in the South African local communities through the arts by way of educational workshops, mentorship programs, community presentations and theatre performances.
OUR HISTORY
REACH SA & Via Red Carpet's mission is to foster a strong dance culture by providing a platform for dancers to shine and audiences to revel in the magic of live performances.
REACH SA & Via Red Carpet started as dance crews that are passionate about performing and committed to providing quality (Dance) work to its clients. Eventually they saw the need of providing youth with the opportunity to rely and depend on their own creation within the arts and culture sector.
REACH SA & Via Red Carpet exist because of the needs of the people in the community. Both organizations work together to persuade and encourage young people to create employment by themselves within the profession of arts and culture sector. The spirit of humanity (UBUNTU) and the BATHO PELE PRINCIPLES (PEOPLE FIRST PRINCIPLES) inform the work that is done. The organizations have seen the impact and power when people come together with one vision and unite to bring about change for a better life for its community.
OUR OUTREACH
Educational Workshops
REACH SA and Via Red Carpet are committed to teaching the art forms of gumboots and pantsula to all ages in our communities. From Monday - Friday we run our evening sessions at the Kagiso Memorial Center.
Community Presentations
For the past six years, REACH SA and Via Red Carpert have served our communities by sharing cultural dance performances at local and regional events celebrating our culture and our heritage.
Theatre Performances & Special Dance Events
REACH SA and Via Red Carpet are often commissioned to perform at various dance events, festivals and celebrations in South Africa. The organizations have created several original musical theatre productions that gave young artists in the community a platform to showcase and develop their talents. Past productions included; Mind of an 8 Year Old, Diversity and Spiritual War.
